Formal Spaces Are Now Flex Spaces: A New Traditional Floor Plan

What are flex spaces? For years here in Metro Atlanta, formal living and formal dining were a must for each home. Lately, though mindsets and generation growth has shifted with more people wanting to move outside the box. Many of these newer generations think a formal room might be a waste of space. The idea of buying fancy furniture to collect dust while only using the room a few times a year has fallen off the menu.

More families are looking at function over formality. So to try to keep the formal spaces there for the few people who still want it and make it customizable, we now offer “flex spaces” in several floor plans. You can make those rooms what your lifestyle needs most.

WANT TO PERSONALIZE YOUR HOME BUT DON’T NEED FORMAL LIVING SPACE?  CHECK OUR OPTIONS ON SOME PLANS

  • Since there has been a decline in consumers wanting formal living and dining rooms, not all of our plans have them now
  • We created flex space in several plans to still accommodate both sets of needs
  • Turn a loft area into a bedroom
  • Can be customized to suit your needs, as a formal room, study or, in some plans, an extra bedroom
