Chafin Communities Kicks Off The Holidays By Honoring Two Charities

On November 14th, Chafin Communities kicked off the holiday season with a charity luncheon to honor both the North Gwinnett Co-Op and the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Each organization was honored with a $10,000 donation.

North Gwinnett Co-Op

Throughout October, Chafin Communities staff rallied to collect over 600 lbs of food for the pantry. The North Gwinnett Co-Op serves the communities of BUFORD, SUGAR HILL, SUWANEE & THE GWINNETT COUNTY PORTIONS OF AUBURN, BETHLEHEM, Braselton, and HOSCHTON ONLY.

The North Gwinnett Cooperative was formed in 1991 as a ministry that provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and spiritual support to those in need in the Buford, Suwanee, and Sugar Hill communities. Originally formed by Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in 1991, the ministry is now supported by additional congregations, area businesses, civic organizations, schools, and individuals who generously donate food, clothing, financial resources, and committed volunteer efforts. The North Gwinnett Cooperative is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Toys For Tots

Throughout November and December Chafin Communities will be collecting new, unwrapped toys. The Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks.

“The 2022 holiday season marks the 75th anniversary of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program! Please join us in a special Nationwide celebration of this significant milestone. For over seven decades, the Program has evolved and grown exponentially having delivered hope and the magic of Christmas to over 281 million less fortunate children. Now, in their 75th year, the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program also provides year-round support to families experiencing challenges and exceptional circumstances, thus helping to fulfill the hopes and dreams of millions of families and children in need across our great Nation.” Learn more here.
