Keep glass shower doors looking their best. With proper care and maintenance, you can keep and restore your bathroom enclosures. Our quick tips will leave your glass sparkling.

How to Keep Glass Shower Doors Sparkling

Over time glass showers tend to accumulate hard water stains, dirt, grime, and soap scum. This residue can sit on the glass giving it a spotty or cloudy appearance.  After a while, the residue can become hard to remove leaving your glass dingy.

What you will need for this project are the following items:

  1. Distilled white vinegar
  2. Spray bottle
  3. 2 Microfiber towels
  4. Automotive paint sealant: Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine

First, boil the distilled white vinegar for a few minutes and wait until it has completely cooled. Next, pour vinegar into the spray bottle. Spray a light coat on your glass shower door and wipe off with one of your microfiber towels. Microfiber towels are lint free and work best when using the sealant.

Then, spray a light coat of your Turtle Wax sealant onto your glass. Take your second microfiber towel and wipe off sealant and buff until your glass is dry. The sealant will make the water bead up when you take a shower. This makes it easier for the water to roll right off of the glass.

Finally, invest in a squeegee and hang it in your shower. After every shower squeegee the water off of the glass. The sealant and the squeegee make it a lot easier to maintain cleaning of your glass. Dirt and soap will have a hard time sticking to the glass because of the applied sealant.

Deep Cleaning Maintenance

If you have deep soap scum and hard water stains on your glass , try this simple formula paste. You can make it with everyday products from around your home.

What you will need for this project are the following items:

  1. Distilled white vinegar
  2. Spray bottle
  3. Baking soda
  4. Salt
  5. Sponge

First, boil the distilled white vinegar for a few minutes and wait until it has completely cooled. Next, pour vinegar into the spray bottle. Spray a light coat on your glass shower door.

Then in a separate container mix 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of salt together and mix well. Spread this mixture over the glass with a damp sponge. The mixture will start to form a paste.
